FAQ
Are there exams or tests at the end of the courses?
In some courses, a knowledge-based final exam or test is conducted at the end to obtain certification and ensure that the skills learnt can be applied with confidence. However, in many courses, assessment is continuous during delivery, with the trainer individually assessing progress and the application of what has been learnt. Our trainers take the time to cater to the needs of participants and offer review sessions to ensure that everyone is optimally trained.
What do I need to bring to training?
To participate, you will need a valid photo ID (identity card, driving licence or passport), which will be checked at the start of the course. This is required for the confirmation of participation and the issue of the certificate. If you have personal protective equipment (PPE), bring it with you so that you can test it directly during the training. If you do not have any PPE, we will provide you with the necessary equipment. A valid WINDA ID is also required for GWO courses. If you have a safety pass, please bring it with you - otherwise we will be happy to issue one for you.
What do I need for water training?
Everything you would bring for a visit to the swimming pool: Swimwear, bathing shoes, towel and shower utensils. Separate showers and changing rooms are available in our water training centre. The necessary equipment, such as a survival suit, life jacket and nose clip, is available on loan from us.
Can I use my own PPE?
Yes, using your own PPE or PPEgA offers you the ideal opportunity to test their functionality in realistic hazardous situations. We are also happy to provide you with the necessary equipment. We always use rental equipment for training in the water.
Why do I need a WINDA ID?
The WINDA ID is a prerequisite for participation in GWO-certified courses. You can obtain this by registering in the WINDA system. We cannot issue certificates without a valid WINDA ID.
Are there any prerequisites for participating in a training programme?
On the day of the course, you should be physically fit and arrive on time. You will also need a valid photo ID (identity card, driving licence or passport), which will be checked at the start of the course to confirm your attendance and issue the certificate.
How long does the training course last?
The duration of the training varies depending on the course. Individual training courses last between half a day and two days to ensure that the content is conveyed. For special requirements, we also offer customised training courses that can last up to five days.
How many participants can take part in the training courses?
Our training groups are kept small to ensure intensive support. The number of participants is between three and a maximum of twelve, which enables practical exercises and effective knowledge transfer. This ensures individualised participant support.
